EHCP Support

Navigating the Process with Confidence

The process of securing an EHCP for achild with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) can be complex and overwhelming for families. At SEND & Sensory, we offer expert guidance and hands-on support throughout every stage of the EHCP journey. Whether you’re applying for the first time, preparing for an annual review, or navigating a tribunal, our team is here to help.

What Is an EHCP and Who Is It For?

An EHCP is a legal document in the UK that outlines a child’s special educational needs, along with the support required across education, health, and care settings. It is designed for children and young people with more complex needs that cannot be met by standard SEN provision in school.

An EHCP can unlock vital resources such as 1:1 support, specialist placements, therapy input, or equipment. The process involves gathering evidence, assessments, and regular reviews—all of which we can help you navigate with clarity.

How We Help with EHCP Support

At SEND & Sensory, we offer a full range of EHCP services, including:

Consultancy and Support:

We provide clear advice and expert guidance before you begin the process, helping you decide if an EHCP is the right path for your child. If you move forward, we provide hands-on support throughout the application, including access to our network of professionals for assessments and evidence. We also guide you through appeals and attend tribunals when needed, ensuring your child gets the support they deserve.

Basic Application:

Our Basic EHCP service helps families prepare a strong application for a Needs Assessment. We review all relevant reports, carry out a 30-minute observation of your child, and produce a professionally written EHCP Needs Assessment request for submission to any Local Authority. This ensures your child’s needs are clearly presented and supported by evidence. With expert input and clear documentation, we help increase the chances of your request being accepted first time.

Full EHCP Application Support:

Our Full EHCP service offers complete support throughout the entire application process. We observe your child, meet with parents and school staff, and coordinate referrals to relevant services such as CDT, SLT, and CAMHS. We work closely with professionals like Educational Psychologists and therapists to gather assessments, review existing reports, and identify agency involvement. Once the EHCP Needs Assessment is approved, we lead Multi-Agency Meetings, collect all necessary advice, and complete the full EHCP proposal for submission to the Local Authority.
